My Record Player

Hello everybody! First off, I am so sorry for not posting on Wednesday like I said I would! Starting classes has made time fly, and before I knew it, it was already Wednesday, and I had no blog post ready! However, I am super excited about today's blog post because it is all about my Crosley Cruiser Record Player! I had kind of wanted a record player for a little while, but after seeing the play Dirty Dancing in Dallas in July, it just kind of confirmed my want! When I returned home the next day, I went straight to Hastings and bought my record player! I decided to get it in turquoise, as it is just so pretty! What is so great about the Crosley Record Players is that they have everything built into it: the  actual player, the different RPMs, and speakers. And the best part- it is completely portable! It just snaps into a kind of briefcase with a handle and all! I seriously love it so much!!

Since I purchased my record player, I obviously have been building up my vinyl collection. I bought my first record at Hastings, which was the Original Hunger Games Soundtrack. It was on sale, and I actually really like that album. I also got Ingrid Michaelson's Lights Out record at Hastings. I then went and perused a local antique shop that had a ton of vinyl. I picked up The Sound of Music Soundtrack, a kind of best rock hits of the '80s, and a single of Toto's Africa. The record that I had been wanting so badly was the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. I had found a few online that were way out of price range (like $150!!) until I came upon Ebay. I purchased one for about $10, and it is perfect! I love that soundtrack so much, and I am constantly playing it. The latest records I have picked up were from Urban Outfitters, which were featured in my last blog post, Clothing, Beauty, and More Haul. They are Dream Your Life Away by Vance Joy and 1989 by Taylor Swift. I have been loving Vance Joy recently; if you love Ingrid Michaelson, Kodaline, or even Ed Sheeran, I would give Vance Joy a listen to. And do I even need to explain 1989? I mean, it's basically the best thing ever. :)

Well, I hope you guys enjoyed reading about my record player and my records! It is a bit different than what I normally post, but it was something that I just really loved and wanted to share with y'all! Let me know in the comments if any of y'all have record players and what your favorite records are! Thank you so much for reading! xx

Much Love,
~Michaela~

  3. I love this post! Nowadays, people only care about digital downloads, so it's nice to see a bit of vintage when it comes to music! xx

  4. I love the color choice! Toto is a great artist, you should listen to more of their music... if not on a record player at lease online.
    Lovely post.

  5. Loved reading about your little record collection and record player. I actually got one of the Crosley record players as a gift for my birthday last year, but I have yet to test it out as I do not have any records!

    1. Aww, you've got to go get some! Little antique/vintage shops are great to look for records, as they tend to be super inexpensive!
